Engagement photos document this new stage of your relationship, and let’s be honest, having photos other than selfies are always a nice way to remember your relationship. Whenever you’re talking about your partner to friends, families, strangers… it’s always handy and nice to pull up a nice, clear photo of the two of you.

Engagement photoshoots are meant to capture intimate as well as fun moments that you share with your partner. I always say that “it brings out your favourite parts of your partner and yourself!”

Here are a few tips I have for lovebirds who are entering this new stage and looking to get fun engagement photos:

  1. Pick out a power outfit that makes you feel like the best version of yourself: make it classy, sassy, cozy… however makes you feel confident and good. If you want to coordinate outfits, I have a Pinterest board full of ideas that you can draw inspiration from.
  2. Calm your nerves with tea, coffee, yoga… whatever get you in a positive headspace because this is meant to be fun and engaging. Leave the rest to me! If you’re more comfortable at home, I am happy to do an in-home session where you guys can blast music or play board games together. Whatever makes you feel the most “we.”
  3. It’s not about posing and looking pretty, it’s really about connecting on a deeper level with your partner and having fun. Sure, I might adjust your hair or make you tilt your head to one side so that the light frames your face better, but it’s really about keeping it natural to who you two are. Trust me, I’ll make you look good.
  4. Do what you love sounds so cheesy, but it’s so true! If you feel uncomfortable, you’ll look uncomfortable. If you’re a couple that enjoys boardgames and nights in, you don’t need to force yourself to go bungee jumping to get good photos. It’s not about your surroundings or your outfit, it’s really about the love emanating between the two of you.

These are the main takeaways that make a strong and compelling set of images. I’m here to capture your unique story in a unique way so that all you have to do is connect with your partner and celebrate this new stage!
